IndyCar 2026 Season Preview and Predictions

The IndyCar season kicks off at St. Petersburg this weekend, and 25 drivers are looking for glory. Whilst the technical regulations are stable, driver moves, and off-season narratives have built up this season as being potentially a highly spicy one.

Some high-level questions include:

  • Will Alex Palou get four crowns in a row?
  • Will Pato O’Ward, Scott Dixon, Scott McLaughlin, or someone else mount a title challenge?
  • Can Will Power settle in at Andretti after 17 seasons at Penske?
  • Can Team Penske get back on their feet again?
  • Hauger, Collet, and Schumacher – who will win Rookie Of The Year?
  • Can Armstrong, Rosenqvist, Rossi, Malukas, or Lundgaard transition to the big league?
  • Can Josef Newgarden and Marcus Ericsson bounce back from a bad 2025?

All of these questions and many more are discussed in my Season Preview and Terrible Championship Predictions video. Sit back and enjoy nearly 40 minutes of IndyCar chatter. Let me know your predictions and interests in the comments.
